Key dates
- Last day to register online: Tue, Oct 13Tuesday, October 13 was the last day to register online, by mail, or in person, and the last day to change party. This deadline has passed. Oregon has no same-day registration.
- Last day to register by mail: Tue, Oct 13Paper registration cards had to be postmarked by Tuesday, October 13. Passed.
- Last day to register in person: Tue, Oct 13In-person registration also closed October 13. Already-registered Oregon voters who moved can still update their address at My Vote and get a ballot. The state pamphlet says: if Election Day is less than 5 days away, call your county elections office for instructions on how to get your ballot.
- In-person voting: Wed, Oct 14 to Tue, Nov 3Oregon has no polling places or 'early voting' in the usual sense. Once ballots go out (Oct. 14), you can vote any time. County elections offices can give you a replacement ballot, an accessible ballot, or help in another language, and you can fill out your ballot there. Multnomah County: Voting Center, 1040 SE Morrison St., Portland, and Voting Center Express, 600 NE 8th St., Gresham (weekdays 8 AM to 5 PM; opened Oct. 8). Extended hours at both: Oct. 28 to 30, 8 AM to 7 PM; Sat. Oct. 31, 10 AM to 2 PM; Mon. Nov. 2, 8 AM to 7 PM; Election Day 7 AM to 8 PM.
- Mail ballot request and replacement datesYou don't request a ballot; it comes automatically. If yours is lost, damaged, or never arrived, ask your county for a replacement. In Multnomah County, mailed replacements end at 7:00 PM on Wednesday, October 28 (county replacement page: 'The deadline to request a replacement ballot for the Nov. 3, 2026 General Election mailed to your home is Oct. 28 at 7PM. After that time, replacement ballots are only available for pick up at will call in person'). To pick one up, order it online or by phone. Wait for the email saying it's ready. Then get it at the Voting Center (1040 SE Morrison St., Portland) or the Voting Center Express (600 NE 8th St., Gresham), through 8:00 PM on Election Day. Phone 503-988-VOTE (8683), email elections@multco.us.
- Mail ballot deadline: Tue, Nov 38:00 PM PT. Drop boxes and county offices: in the box or office by 8:00 PM on Nov. 3. Mail: USPS postmark by Nov. 3; the county can accept it up to 7 days later (Nov. 10).
- any official ballot drop box anywhere in Oregon, by 8:00 PM Nov. 3 (even one in another county; it gets forwarded)
- any county elections office, by 8:00 PM Nov. 3 (Multnomah: 1040 SE Morrison St., Portland, or Voting Center Express, 600 NE 8th St., Gresham)
- mail (USPS), no stamp needed. Your ballot counts if it's postmarked by November 3 and reaches the county by November 10. But mail is slow now. The state says to use a drop box or ask a post office counter clerk for a hand postmark.
- Election Day: Tue, Nov 3Polls close at 8 PM. There are no polls. Your ballot must be in an official drop box or at a county elections office by 8:00 PM, but Multnomah County says 'Voters who are in line at 8:00 PM may drop off their ballot.' County elections offices are open 7 AM to 8 PM on Election Day. A mailed ballot must carry a USPS postmark dated Nov. 3 or earlier, and must reach the county by Nov. 10.
